The general public in India, Britain, Canada, Brazil, and several other countries, including the European Union countries, have been deceived through this fraud ring. the FSB also said that the fraud ring involves former Georgian Defense Minister David Kezerashvili. He is currently hiding in London, the Russian investigation agency claims. A spokesman for the former Georgian minister was contacted by Reuters regarding this matter. However, he did not want to comment on this.
Kezerashvili served as Georgia’s defense minister from 2006 to 2008. At that time, Mikhail Saakashvili was the president of Georgia. Kezerashvili has a company called Milton Group. The former Georgian minister and his company have been accused of being involved in fraud at the international level before. This has also sparked controversy in the past. The BBC published an investigative report on the matter in 2020. The former Georgian minister went to court against the report. The case was recently ruled in favor of Kezarashvili.
